Special Attractions

Early Teal Season
- We offer guided hunts on flooded rice fields, ponds
and reservoirs during this special early season. Limits are
the rule. Teal hunts are truly an exciting way to begin your
waterfowl season.
- Sandhill
Crane Hunts
- Beginning in mid December through late January of
each year we offer guided hunts for sandhill cranes.

- Upland Game Preserve -
We offer pheasant and Chukar hunts in the afternoons from November through March. Conducted on our exclusive private game preserve, these birds are a delight to hunt and are superb gourmet fare for the table.
Official Season Dates and Bag Limits
Texas game regulations provide a long season with liberal limits. The specific dates and limits (officially set at the end of August each year) vary from year to year, but generally the dates and limits are as follows:
- Geese: Nov - Mar -25 per day: 20 Snows/Blues, Ross', 3 Canadas & 2 Whitefronts
- Ducks: Nov.-Jan - 5 per day, Sept-4 per day
- Sandhill Cranes: Dec-Jan - 2 per day
- Pheasant: Nov - Mar-no limit on preserve Hunts
*Note: Possession limit is twice the daily bag limit, with the exception of Snows, Blues, and Ross' geese, which have no possession limit.
The most common waterfowl to be found in our area are Snows, Blues, Ross', Whitefronted (specks) and Lesser Canada Geese. Sandhill Cranes, along with many species of ducks, winter here. The most common ducks are Pintail, Teal, Mallard, Widgeon, Mottled Duck, Whistling Tree Ducks, Gadwall, and Northern Shoveler.
